Johnny's Cafe on 21st St
OK, So Scott picked out the place this time, Johnny's Cafe on 21st St. Remember, we are only judging food, not the interior, outside presence, or any other crap. Just the food.
Ok I ordered the meatloaf dinner plate. It came with meatloaf, winter medley vegetables (cauliflower and broccoli) and a salad. The side salad was nice, limited on the vareity of dressings. When I got the plate with the meatloaf, I thought I was at grandma's. It looked like it was served up by a woman from 60-95, nothing wrong with that, though. The medley was still warm so kudos for that. The meatloaf was warm also. Tasted like mom's or grandma's.
Value-wise, the food was worth the money. Taste didn't overwhelm me. If I was a home-cooked meal, I'm going back.

where did the name come from
So, where did I get the name for this blog?
Well, over a year ago I started having lunch with a college buddy of mine and we've been trying to go to local owned spots throughout the Topeka area. I've been thinking lately about what we should do with these adventures. At the latest one, I throughout the term "feed bucket list" for our little lunches. Scott liked it so I thought I would create a blog and enlist the help of Scott to write a brief "review" of the restaurant/diner/cafe/joint. Look for them coming soon.
